We finally made a dent in that list of "Stuff We Have to Do Before We Leave Saratoga Forever" and went to the Wine Bar. I wore my sweet 1980s metallic Italian dress that I got at the Last Vestige bag sale for < $0.25. Rachel looked like a hot classy teacher, and Britton was her cute punky self. And Kenny was there wearing...whatever dress-up clothes guys wear that are never worth mentioning. We enjoyed an array of fine wine, I believe mine was a vintage 2004...a good year. Strong notes of citrus and pear...and...cork. We also enjoyed comparing glasses and trying to figure out if mine was different for an actual pretentious reason or if it was just to confuse us. We enjoyed fare ranging from roast duck, to cheese and honeycomb, to seared Ahi.
And then went straight to the Parting Glass for real food and drinks. Sweet potato fries, buffalo burgers, and pints. Your daaamn right. The waitress was a little confused by our attire, but was not deterred from carrying on a long conversation that started to get a little awkward. For me anyway.
