So we managed to fit 11 people in Amos' van (meant for 7). Russell was in the trunk. I don't know why Charlie's making that face, maybe he's really horrified to be sharing a seat with me

When we got back around two we decided to get authentic Brooklyn bagels from the bagel place that's open 24 hours (!!! there are definitely some good things about being back in the states) What did Amos get again? I believe it was an egg bagel with cream cheese, lox, and capers? Julia: "Why don't you just go up to the guy and yell "I'M JEWISH" That probably would've gotten his order across... Oh, so anyway, we ate our bagels at this little park..? (keep in mind, no grass, just some benches) that has a great view.

Harry Potter

So in my behindness I have gotten confused, and this actually predates the last day in London, it's the last day in Bath and picking up our Harry Potter books at midnight. But I guess that doesn't really matter...

As some of you may know, Pizza Express is this pizza chain in England. Now from its name I figure you're imagining a Dominoesesque kinda place. Not true. There are flowers in vases on the tables and soft lighting. It a source of mystery for all Americans in England. (Pizza Hut in England is actually rather classy too come to think of it...)

See? Classy

Yeah....it makes no sense

Rachel looking pensive

Katie and Carlyn

The Ram was the Villas' local pub, so we decided to meet up there for our last night drinking

Just...Molly

I guess Jeff and Ej had made friends with the owner that day, so he said that we could count as a private party and stay in the pub two hours after it closed, as long as we crammed into this back room while he kicked everyone else out. Most of us needed to get to Harry Potter though so we only stayed for less than an hour, we felt kinda bad about that.

E.j. being his typical self. He was alright at this point, but when I got home around one he was plaaastered. He was like, Lauuuren, I'm a drunken idiot! I'm leaving in 4 hours and I haven't packed yet! Pleeease help me pack, I'm toooo drunk. So yeah, I was up til 3 or so helping him shove stuff into his luggage and watching him yell "drunken IDIOT!!!" into the mirror, doing headstands and responding to my "oh god no not a good idea" with "you WISH you could do this...you wanna HOOK UP with someone who can do this"

Don't know why Chris was pretending to be asleep...

I guess they just stopped by to show us they had bought food? Not sure. Marlee's got eggs, of course.

Excitement....

So exciting!

And the queue was certainly long....and we were at the end of it. There had been debate earlier between the two schools--school that wanted to get there at 9:30 and me, who wanted to get there at 12:30 because I felt pretty certain the line would go really fast once they started letting people in. I convinced a bunch of people to wait, but right before 12 they wussed out on waiting and made us go. So of course we got there when the queue was the most daunting. I was right, however, and by around 12:30 or so we were done.

Maybe a little tooo excited...

Some people were dressed up...apparently there was a hippogriff somewhere, so sorry I missed that

This lady was giving out Griffyndor scarves, but she only had a limited number so it was probably something for the first 100 people in line...I, however, was at the front of the line talking to the people who had arrived at 9:30 right when she came around. Score!

I swear I took a picture of this guy stocking the books, and I thought it was great. I don't know what happened to it

The stacks

Success!

Ok...so I know this anachronistic, but these are recent acquisitions and they NEED to be shared. While we were in Venice I really needed to do laundry, and I was like, 8 Euro?? F that. We've got a sink. So I ended up washing my laundry in said sink and then hanging items of wet clothing in every possible crevice of our cabin. Well....someone got the idea into her head that this was somewhat "white trash." Then we looked around, and noticed that we were living in a log cabin, with no screens on the windows, a little front porch, bad music playing loudly from outside, AND A BED IN THE KITCHEN. So we decided to play the part. Well, ok, it was mostly Caitlin, but she just did it so well. There's also a video if you want a more interactive experience of our white trashitude

Sooo amazing

Caitlin looking even MORE amazing. That half-open mouth thing?

I, on the other hand, look HOT! Not sure how this happened, guess I'm just really bad at looking white trash. Or my white trash side is just super sexy

Last Day in London

OK i realize I am really behind. These are all from July 16th. I promise I will get caught up. Considering I am now home with nothing to do but update this and I'm certainly not makin any new memories I'm sure I will soon be up to date. And then have nothing to post for a while. Sorry for any future boringness

I stayed in a Univ. of Westminster dorm, Furnival House, which is sort of weird cause most of the other times I was in London I was staying in their dorms too.... this time I actually had to pay though, so that sucked

Yeah, I like to take pictures of the places I stay even when they're not that impressive. Just want to remember. This blog is really for my own sake rather than yours so if you don't like it you can bite me

Went to Camden Town, did some last minute gift shopping. Maybe you got/are getting one! or maybe you're not special and i hate you

Saw this, was confused for a second...

And then saw this. And was like oh WHAT. The premiere, complete with JOHNNY DEPP IN PERSON was the next day. Approximately 5 hours after I left London. Yeah. I'm still so pissed about that.

Molly and her dad were also in London for the night, so I met up with them for dinner. We went to Wagamama's, a Japanese noodle bar that's really popular there. Clearly, Molly was pleased about this

See Charlie!! I will eat something other than air! (don't think this got recorded, but when we were in London in March we had to spend like two hours a night picking a place to eat cause when Charlie's cheapness and my pickiness combine things get ugly. Wagamama's was suggested and I took one look at the menu full of shrimp and prawns [shellfish allergy is NOT my fault] and general grossness I had to decline. And Charlie got pissed and did an [UNconvincing I might add] impression of me: "I'm Lauren...I only like AIR") But I overcame my aversion to all things solid, as this picture records.

So, Molly and her dad had tickets to a show that night, and it just happened to turn out that due to his jet lag he preferred bed. I thus got a free ticket to As You Like It, which I was pretty happy about, especially since plan A for the evening had been to go to a club by myself (see the last time I was alone in London to figure out why that probably wouldn't have been a good idea...or better yet, click the link to see the pic of the bus driver that practically molested me even though I wasn't alone) Anyway, I originally just took this picture to capture the atmosphere of the place...cause I'm weird like that...and these guys just happened to be sitting next to us. It wasn't until I looked through my pictures over a week later that I was like, wait...I recognize these guys...they were in As You Like it! Weird....

We had time before the show, so we did what anyone in England would do. We went for a pint

And yeah, the one on the right IS a regular pint glass. Apparently Hoegaarden is too bad ass to be consumed in mere pints (Click the link to see the antithesis of this)

This is a job for both hands

Success!

The Wyndham

I thought this was kinda neat. And damn it, this is my blog. So shut up.

Ticket takers

I like the look of these pictures where the people working stay still but the audience members are blurry

The foyer

So as you may have noticed if you've seen a lot of my pictures, I love pictures of sort of dim, warm lighting. So I have about a million pics of this theatre

The balconies (aka: crappy seats)

Opera boxes

More opera boxes, cause they're cool looking

The curtain

Great seats

And back to sleep in London for the last time :( ...for now anyway
