HAHA Chirak!

As I'm sure you've heard, the 2012 Olympics are going to be held in London. If you've been to London at all in the last six months at least I'm sure you knew they were vying for this. It was only...everywhere. The seats in the tube were upholstered with hideous yellow "Back the Bid" fabric and there was a giant countdown to the Olympic decision in Trafalagar Square. That said, it is another well-known fact, to anyone who has either been to England or studied English history (so ok, maybe not all that well-known, but really obvious to me anyway), that the English sort of...hate the French. Yeah they're 'allies' but that doesn't change the fact that there was a Hundred Years War and a Seven Years War and some tiffs with Napoleon--and the French don't shower. SO, knowing how big a deal getting the Olympics was to the English, and how much they just really dislike those French bastards, seeing this sign was the most appropriate way possible for me to find out that London had won the Olympic bid. Not only that, but knowing my love of irony, you have to understand just how awesome it is that this is a French Restaurant
